The last one I owned was sold with 250k, and it was a MK4 BEW TDI, still on it s original camshaft. I ain't skurred.

It’s just at the border of NP I’d say. I think 2009 is still a timing belt engine; if so; has it been done? If it hasn’t, well then that’s a good bit of change it’ll need soon. If it has, then I’d say it pushes more toward NP. 

Given much thought to the CC?

Check for records of timing belt service. If my math is correct the engine will be subject to imploding on itself at this point if it hasn’t been done.

Also, would prob spend a little more to get an MK6.

Just seafoam the shit out of it, do a flush, and run full synthetic with 3k oil changes. It's a known solution.

‘08+ uses a chain. They have tensioner and stretching issues, but it seems these issues usually show up by the 60,000 mile mark.
